When are classes offered?
All our classes are currently online, with 11 classes weekly as well as a longer workshop on Sunday afernoons. Every class is welcoming to new students while also supporting experienced yogis. Some classes include meditation along with meditatio instruction.
Our teaching theme changes monthly, for variety and for more comprehensive learning.

What is Svaroopa® Yoga?
Svaroopa® yoga (swa-roo-pa) means “Bliss Yoga.” If you have back pain, neck pain, knee pain or a crazy-busy mind, you need this approach to yoga's poses and breathing practices.
Slow yoga, with careful alignments, customized to your body's needs, our yoga is accessible - yet profound. Everything we do is both physical and more than physical. We specialize in spinal decompression, called "core opening," releasing the tensions in the deepest layers of your body – the layers of muscles wrapped around your spine.

What is a Class Like?
Your class begins with you reclining on your back, in a yoga pose named Shavasana, your knees and feet resting on soft cushions, while your teacher guides you through a relaxation and a slow yogic breathing process.
Each of the poses that follows targets a specific part of your spine, to unravel deep tensions and create space between your vertebrae as well as for your internal organs.
You end with another guided relaxation. From your first class, you can tell that this stuff works.
Svaroopa® yoga is a customized yoga. Class sizes are limited so your teacher can watch your body’s angles, to be able to offer you a customized blanket or other prop, or gentle hands-on assistance which opens up a whole new capacity for movement, for your breath and for pure aliveness.
Where Does it Come From?
Svaroopa® yoga comes from its tantric roots in India, brought to the USA by Swami Nirmalananda in 1985. Its specialty is spinal decompression, the targeted release of the deepest layers of tensions in your body. You gain strength as well as vitality and clarity of mind, all from an easy practice.
Our core opening poses provide profound pain relief, while opening you to your own transformational process as well as deep inner experiences of your own Divinity, as described by yoga's ancient sages.

How Classes Are Structured
You get more our of your yoga through our yoga curriculum. Our classes are taught on a theme basis to maximize your benefits through a comprehensive study program. You get a complete grounding in your yoga practice, along with theory, anatomy and adaptations for your individual needs.
